Program Description
More than Money allows students to understand how proper money management can improve their lives, as well as how their financial choices can impact others. They’ll gain the confidence to apply this knowledge to their lives, enabling them to grow up making smart financial choices.

Encourage students to embrace their entrepreneurial spirit! In JA’s Our Business World program, elementary school students explore how businesses are created and what makes them thrive. Using games and multimedia, students learn about innovation, start-ups and self-employment.

A Business of Our Own teacher students basic business concepts such as management, finance, production and marketing. This learning is enhanced by the use of games and multimedia to enable students to fully immerse themselves in the joys and challenges of running their own business.

Canadian youth are growing up in a time where spending is easier than ever. How can we prepare today’s youth to avoid personal debt? Through the newly updated Dollars with Sense program, students learn personal money management tools to help them make smart financial decisions, live debt-free and become savvy investors.

In today’s global economy, individuals from a variety of backgrounds work together to achieve common goals. Diversity in Action teaches students the value of diversity and how it contributes to improving morale, creativity, teamwork and productivity, and how inclusivity can solve real-world challenges.

In this program students are encouraged to consider how to prepare for the future and enter the world of work. Students identify personal interests, skills, strengths and passions; examine career clusters and identify possible post-secondary destinations; learn to budget and develop strategies to achieve educational and career success. A third-party study found that +65% of past Achievers credit JA with their decision to stay in school and enroll in post-secondary education.

The same Economics for Success program as above, but delivered at a post-secondary venue.

The earlier youth learn financial literacy, the more likely they are to invest and save later in life. ISP introduces students to the stock market, its relation to our economy, and how it is used to achieve financial goals. Students study various investment vehicles, build a stock portfolio and gain real-time, hands on trading experience in a 6 week stock market competition. Students buy and sell stocks on a risk-free trading platform, competing for the most successful portfolio against student teams from across Canada.

The same Investment Strategies Program as above, but delivered through a series of videos and teacher-led activities, rather than being delivered by JA volunteer.
